Deso Fat Dissolving Injections in Oxford and Marlow

Deso Fat Dissolving Injections are state-of-the-art injectable products in the UK, designed to treat hard to shift localised pockets of fat. Areas that can be treated include the arms, double chin, abdomen, flanks, buttocks, inner knees, thighs and back or bra rolls. Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.

In line with similar injectable treatment, the active ingredient is Deoxycholic Acid, proven to reduce fat deposits for the right patients. The product is conveniently separated into a face and body concentration and side effects are minimal.

When treating the body localised fat is reduced and skin firmness is improved.

When treating the face, drainage of excess fluids takes place as well as reduced localised fat amounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deso is the next generation of fat dissolver used to permanently break down fat deposits in stubborn pockets of fat. The active ingredient used for the treatment is Deoxycholic Acid, proven to reduce fat deposits for the right patients. Deoxycholic acid normally emulsifies and solubilises dietary fats in the intestine, and when injected subcutaneously, it disrupts and destroys fat cells which are then carried out of the body in the renal system making it the perfect agent to remove stubborn pockets of fat. Like most non-surgical fat reducing procedures, intralipotherapy using DESO FACE and BODY is not intended for the obese body, but does target the fat at a cellular level making it one of the most successful formulas for targeting specific areas.

At Tu Aesthetica your safety is our number one priority, and therefore, with us you will only have your injections performed by a currently practising, GMC registered, UK trained doctor. Our doctors engage in regular training to remain current, skilled, and professional in the treatments they provide. Dr Ben Morris and Dr Menka Chachlani also work within the NHS and undergo regular appraisal and revalidation.

It is important that you feel comfortable with your doctor, not only in their ability and knowledge, but also on a personal level. We encourage all our patients to carefully research the practitioner offering them treatment, and only to make an informed decision on proceeding with treatment once they are comfortable with their experience, their qualifications, and their manner.

Prior to receiving a treatment with Tu Aesthetica you will be required to have a face-to-face consultation with an aesthetic doctor. They will assess your medical history, discuss your wants and needs, and devise a personalised treatment plan. They will also make clear the risks and benefits of the treatments, give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have, and together you will decide if the treatment is right for you. You will also be required to have photographs taken for insurance purposes prior to any procedure.

During the treatment your doctor will first assess your anatomy to identify appropriate injection sites and may choose to mark these sites before applying sterilising solution and performing the injections. The injections involve first passing a sharp needle into the skin to make a hole through which a blunt cannula can be passed which then spreads the fat dissolving solution throughout the plane of fatty tissue.

Once your consent has been obtained and photos have been taken, treatment will generally take around 15 to 20 minutes depending on the area treated.

It can be a strange sensation as the cannula is passed under the skin but it is not normally described as painful. The fat dissolving solution itself can sting when injected, and this stinging can last for a prolonged period, but it is mixed with a local anaesthetic prior to administration in order to minimise pain.

  • Refrain from touching the area or applying make up for the next 8 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 1-2 days.
  • Avoid applying ice directly to the area.
  • Avoid swimming, steam rooms or saunas for 3-5 days.
  • Wear support garments for 5-7 days.
  • Do not scrub or exfoliate your skin or use resurfacing/peeling treatments for the next 2 weeks.
  • If skin discolouration occurs, avoid exposure to UV rays until fully resolved to avoid permanent pigmentation changes.

This depends on the area treated and the number of sessions needed, but after an initial period lasting up to a few days where the solution collects under the skin and can look very swollen or full, the final result should be seen by around 5 weeks post-treatment and works with your natural cell turnover. A course of 3-5 sessions of Deso are often needed, 5 weeks apart to get the best results.

Fatty tissue is permanently removed from the area of the injections, however, this does not prevent new fatty tissue accumulating in that area if there is a dietary intake or lifestyle issue. This is why it is seen as a treatment for localised  areas of hard to budge fat and is not a treatment for obesity.

As with all medical procedures there are certain risks involved, but as all fat dissolving treatments with Tu Aesthetica are performed by a GMC registered doctor these are minimised and are considered a very safe procedure. During your consultation, your doctor will discuss these thoroughly as part of the consent process.   Normal skin reactions include swelling, bruising, bleeding, pain, redness, stinging, tingling and numbness. These symptoms should subside within 1-14 days, but some people may experience a prolonged inflammatory response. Skin discoloration and transient nodules can occur.

You will be given your doctor’s mobile telephone number in case you need urgent advice.

DESO treatments and other injectable treatments are still largely unregulated in the UK, allowing for wide variation in the qualifications and experience of practitioners and the standard of treatment provided to patients.

At Tu Aesthetica we price the DESO  treatments based on the level of skill and experience needed to inject the different areas, as well as by the number of injections and dose needed. There are standard doses and injection patterns for different areas, but these may need to be adjusted according to each individual’s body type.
